Alumnae Recognised in King's Birthday Honours Lists

We are delighted to share that Old Collegian and Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Sally Capp, was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to the people of Melbourne, local government, business and the community. Sally said that she was “surprised and humbled” to be recognised in today’s honours list and that “It is a privilege to serve the people of Melbourne, and I thank them for the opportunity to work alongside them through past challenging circumstances and now as we shape the future of our city together. I have learned much from the resilience and ingenuity of Melbournians during difficult times, and I am grateful for the courage and determination they have instilled in me as Lord Mayor.”

We also wish to celebrate other alumnae who were recognised today including Liza Lim, for her significant service to the performing arts as a music composer and academic and Fiona Balfour for significant service to corporate governance and to the aviation sector. They were both recognised with a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
