Senior School

PLC's Performing Arts program offers a range of enjoyable and stimulating opportunities for girls to participate in theatre both on and off the stage.

Involvement in our popular Performing Arts program not only develops girls’ performance and acting skills, but it also fosters the development of their collaborative and creative problem-solving skills, and their ability to confidently perform in front of an audience.

Each year, girls have the opportunity to audition for highly sought after roles which include musicals, tragedies and comedies in a range of styles and for girls in a variety of year levels

For girls looking for backstage experience ‘behind the curtain’, every production offers a wide range of important roles including scenic art and set design, costume design and development, properties (props), theatre technology, make-up and hair design, choreography, and stage management.

Always a highlight of the school calendar, these productions provide many opportunities for our girls to work together to develop friendships built on common interests.

PLC's House Concerts are another extremely popular annual House event. Led by our House Captains, the girls themselves take on the responsibilities and challenges of writing, directing, choreographing and designing every element of these much-loved mini-musicals.

PLC also hosts talent and dance contests throughout the year, competing with students from other schools, showcasing their remarkable range of skills and the impressive depth of talent this generation of students has to offer.

Junior School

Singing, dancing and performing are exhilarating experiences. The Junior School provides many opportunities for young girls to develop a passion for the performing arts, and to shine on or off the stage.

At every year level in the Junior School, girls participate in a range of dance, musical and theatrical performances. Prep to Year 2 girls learn to sing, Year 3s and 4s dance, and older learn to act on-stage.

Through performance opportunities, girls experience the magic and joy of theatre and build their communication skills, confidence and self-esteem, as well as developing wonderful bonds and friendships.
