Early Learning Centre

Entry into the ELC is offered to boys and girls for childcare from six months to three years of age. Kindergarten and Pre-Prep programs are available from three years of age on either a term-based program or a 48-week extended hours program.

Priority is given firstly to girls who are fully enrolled to enter Prep in the Junior School, and then to those with a family association with PLC

Places are offered approximately six months prior to commencement of the following year or when a position becomes available during the year. Once a place is offered, return your signed acceptance form together with a $300 non-refundable deposit to secure your child's place.

Junior School

Entry is offered to girls at Prep and Year 5 and at other year levels where places are available.

Places are usually offered once an application form is received, with preference given to early applications and those with a family association with PLC. Girls who enter Junior School would normally continue studying at PLC until the end of Year 12.

The enrolment process commences once a completed application form has been returned to the College with a non-refundable application fee of $150. Copies of the applicant's birth certificate, passport and most recent school report, and NAPLAN report, if applicable, are required as part of the application process.

Senior School

Entry is offered at PLC from Year 7 to Year 11.

Overseas students are recommended to enter by Year 10, in order to give them the opportunity to become familiar with the College's culture and the English language before commencing either the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Places are considered once an application is received, with preference given to early applications and those with a family association with PLC.

Place offers are typically made approximately 2 to 3 years prior to entry.

The enrolment process commences once a completed application form has been received by the College with a non-refundable application fee of $150. Copies of the applicant's birth certificate, passport and most recent school report, and NAPLAN report, if applicable, are required as part of the application. An application to enrol at PLC does not confer a guarantee of placement.

Boarding

The PLC Boarding House is a warm, inclusive and caring community that provides a home away from home for girls in Years 7 to 12.

Enrolment Steps

PLC receives a completed application, including an IDAT or AEAS assessment (see note below regarding language requirements). Assessments are valid for up to one year and should be taken for the year level being applied for at PLC.

  • Applications can be submitted without an IDAT or AEAS report, but the outcome of the application may be delayed.

Upon receipt of your assessment:

  • PLC will advise if a place can be offered and will request payment to confirm acceptance of the place.
  • For International students: on receipt of the enrolment fee, appropriate welfare details, ELICOS confirmation (if applicable), payment of tuition fees for one year and boarding fees for two terms (if applicable) PLC will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE).

A Confirmation of Approved Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) will only be issued to boarding students.

International Students apply online to the Department of Home Affairs for a student visa for entry to Australia.

Language requirements

For IDAT entry requirements, students must be classroom ready at all levels. AEAS scores are outlined below.

Entry into Year 7 or 8: AEAS 70 or above

Entry into Year 9 or 10: AEAS 75 or above

Entry into Year 11: AEAS 80 or above

If the commencement score is not achieved, ELICOS is likely to be recommended and, in some cases, a retest will be required before enrolment can be confirmed. A full review including school reports and an interview may be taken into consideration, along with the outcome or the AEAS or IDAT test.
