PLC Aquatic policies
At PLC Aquatic, safety, health and wellbeing, and respect for others are our top priorities. Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with our policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Terms of use
All visitors to the Joan Montgomery Aquatic Precinct are expected to follow our facility rules. These guidelines help keep everyone safe and make sure everyone has a great experience in the pool.
Supervision policy
- Children enrolled in the Learn to Swim or Holiday program must be actively supervised at all times by a parent or carer aged 16 or older.
- The supervising adult is responsible for accompanying their child to the bathroom during lessons.
Health policy
To keep everyone safe and healthy:
- Please stay home if you have flu-like symptoms or are recovering from COVID-19, Influenza A/B, or RSV.
- Avoid swimming if you’ve had diarrhoea or gastro in the past 14 days.
- Skin conditions such as warts, molluscum, or papilloma must be treated and covered before swimming.
- Use deck showers before entering the water, and always use the toilet beforehand.
- Swimming caps must be worn in the water.
- Healthy swimming habits include:
- Use bathroom breaks before lessons.
- Change nappies in designated areas, not by the poolside.
- Wash hands thoroughly after toileting or changing nappies.
- Use tight-fitting waterproof nappies for children not toilet trained.
- Avoid swallowing pool water.
- Use bathroom breaks before lessons.
Change room policy
- Children aged 5 or older must use the change room that matches their gender.
- If your child needs assistance from a carer of the opposite gender, please use the family change room near the Learn to Swim area.
Access & parking
We want your visit to PLC Aquatic to be smooth and stress-free. Here’s how to make the most of our parking and drop-off options:
JMC car park: This is our main pool car park. Spaces are limited so we recommend arriving a little early to secure a spot.
Drop-off zone: Convenient for squad athletes and parents in a hurry. Please note this area is for drop-off only — no parking.
Alternative parking: If the JMC car park is full, you can use the 1.Senior School Car Park (Gate 6, Parer Street)2. park along Parer Street (Gate G)3. Gate 1, enter via Burwood Hwy, park along the oval, or 4. ELC car park, enter via Elgar Road, Gate 3 (Saturdays only).
- Timing matters: The JMC car park has specific operating hours:
- Mon–Fri morning: 4:45 am – 7:45 am
- Mon–Thu afternoon: 3:30 pm – 7:45 pm
- Fri afternoon: 3:30 pm – 8:15 pm
- Saturday: 5:45 am – 12:30 pm
Sunday: Closed
- Family-friendly options: For families needing extra space or privacy, the family change rooms and alternative parking areas make drop-off and pick-up easier.
Plan ahead, and your visit will be smooth and hassle-free!
Visual recording / photography
- Cameras, phones, or any recording devices are not allowed in change rooms.
- Recording elsewhere in the facility requires permission from the Centre Manager.

Learn to Swim policies
Must complete an application form and make payment before commencing the first lesson.
- Mirrors general supervision, health, and change room rules.
- Includes guidance for access, parking, and family change room use swim policies.
Club policies
Must complete a membership form before commencing the first training.
- Covers athlete and parent codes of conduct.
- Includes healthy swimming practices and safety guidelines.
- Same change-room, visual recording, and access rules apply.
Complaints & Grievances
We follow the Swimming National Integrity Framework (SNIF) to manage conduct, safety, and complaints.
If you need to lodge a concern, please contact:
- Sports Integrity Australia – for serious issues such as abuse or harassment.
- Swimming Australia – for misconduct related to swimming policies, including code of conduct, anti-doping, or competition rules.
