PLC is seeking to appoint a full-time Junior School Science Teacher for a 12-month contract, with the possibility of an ongoing position after the initial year.
This role will allow the incumbent to immerse themselves in our newly designed ‘Exploratorium’ – a contemporary, functional, well-resourced space, enabling our students to question, explore and interact with the wonderful world of Science.
The incumbent will teach at all levels in the Junior School from Prep to Year 6 and will be responsible for developing a high-quality Primary Science curriculum, promoting and nurturing the learning of Science.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified, experienced teacher of Junior Science, who also understands the inherent links to Senior Science. They will be someone who doesn’t just know the content, but has the ability to create interest and enthusiasm for the subject, while at the same time ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Previous experience in an inquiry-based, concept-driven classroom would be advantageous.
All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards. The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
