The Role

Do you have formal horticultural qualifications, or are progressing towards qualification?

We have an exciting opening for a professional Gardener to join our friendly Grounds Team, in a full-time ongoing position.

Supporting the Head of Grounds and Facilities Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the PLC grounds are maintained and improved in accordance with the College’s landscape Master Plan, and the department’s annual maintenance and improvement plan.

Your days will be interesting and varied, with tasks that include: full garden maintenance, preparing and maintaining garden beds and sports grounds (including playgrounds) across the School, assisting with the development and maintenance of water conservation methods, cleaning of pathways and driveways and overseeing site inspections.

The ideal candidate will have: sound knowledge of plants and trees and the application of weed control, herbicides and pesticides; and is competent in the use of a ride on mower, front end loader, tractor, chain saw, hedge trimmer, edger and whipper snipper.

All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards.

You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check for Employees.
