PLC named Victoria’s Top School in national rankings
PLC has been named Victoria’s best private school and in the top three schools in Australia in News Corp's Top 100 Private Schools list.
The comprehensive list evaluated over 1,300 schools nationwide using a wide range of criteria, including NAPLAN performance, Year 12 results, student-teacher ratios, attendance rates, and facilities. PLC’s top spot in Victoria was highlighted by exceptional Year 7 and Year 9 NAPLAN results, alongside dedicated teaching staff and a low student-teacher ratio.
While we are delighted by the recognition, our Principal, Dr Emma Burgess, noted that the true strength of PLC lies in the daily efforts of our entire community and our “remarkable people”.
"We have outstanding teachers who know, challenge and inspire our girls; parents who genuinely partner with us; and students who bring curiosity, courage and a love of learning," Dr Burgess said. "Together, this creates a dynamic learning culture, where academic excellence sits alongside deep care and belonging and where every girl is nurtured to grow.
"There is a tangible delight in learning here, where girls lift each other up, respect diverse perspectives, and celebrate each other's achievements."
Dr Burgess emphasised that our mission remains centred around supporting each individual student to reach her potential.
"Our aspiration is that every girl is known, challenged and inspired to flourish, academically, personally and with a deep sense of purpose," she added. "Our goal remains steadfast: to form empowered women of character who step boldly beyond our gates to change the world for good."
We extend our sincere thanks to our staff, parents, and students whose commitment, character, and hard work make PLC such a wonderful community.
