Australia Day Honours - Mrs Margaret McArthur OAM (1950)
PLC proudly congratulates Mrs Margaret McArthur OAM (1950) on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in this year’s Australia Day Honours for service to the community of the Mornington Peninsula.
For more than six decades, Margaret has dedicated herself to strengthening her local community. From foundational work with the Mornington Community Information and Support Centre to leadership roles in local schools, sporting clubs and welfare organisations, her contribution has been both broad and enduring. More recently, her involvement in medical research into the ageing brain highlights her ongoing commitment to giving back.
Margaret embodies the spirit of steadfast, purposeful service. Her reflection that service is both a duty and a reward captures the essence of her lifelong commitment to others. She stands as a powerful example to current PLC students of the lasting impact one individual can make through quiet dedication and community leadership.
