Recently, the College officially opened its new Boarding House. New and returning boarders, their parents as well as interested PLC Old Collegians enthusiastically embraced the contemporary and stylish new facilities that are a major feature of the PLC Campus.
Featuring modern individual bedrooms in the new building for Years 11 and 12 and fully refurbished and stylish bedrooms for Years 7-10, all boarders benefit from additional recreational rooms where they can relax and chat, play games or watch big-screen movies. There are also additional new music rehearsal rooms, an exercise room and study and computer rooms.
Boarders also have extended access to the school's campus resources such as the Music School, Art Studios, Computer rooms, Swimming Pool, Library and sporting facilities.
There are a number of recreational rooms in the Boarding House and these contain treadmills, exercise bikes and various other exercise equipment.
Those learning a musical instrument can practice in the Music School or use one of the Boarding House pianos in the individual music rooms or use the grand piano in the common room. The Aquatic Centre is open on Saturday and after evening prep in hot weather.
Although some girls choose to bring their own laptops, the Boarding House provides computers and printers for boarders' use. Telephones, fax, email and skype make it easy to keep in touch with family and friends.
