PLC Pipers contribute to world record performance
The pipers joined other female pipers and drummers from across Australia and New Zealand to form the largest all-female pipe band ever assembled.

Congratulations to Isabella L, Prachi, Janae and Isabella X, who first marched in the Melbourne Tartan Day Parade along Collins Street before joining other musicians in Melbourne's City Square. Together, the 145 pipers and drummers officially set a new Australian Book of Records title, commemorating a remarkable chapter in Australia's piping history.

The record attempt celebrated the centenary of the pioneering Australian Ladies Pipe Band's international tour, which began in 1925 and continued through 1927. The groundbreaking tour took the musicians across Australia, Europe, Great Britain and North America, where they performed to audiences of more than one million people, paving the way for future generations of female pipers and drummers. The event also recognised more than 100 years since the world's first ladies' pipe band was established in Melbourne in 1918.

It was a memorable and inspiring occasion for our students, who were honoured to play their part in celebrating the rich heritage of women in piping while contributing to a record-breaking achievement. Congratulations to our talented pipers on being part of this unforgettable moment.
