Lucinda Draper (2025) competes at Commonwealth Games Swimming Trials
We are delighted to congratulate recent PLC Old Collegian and current PLC Aquatic staff and club member, Lucinda Draper (2025), following her recent performance at the Commonwealth Games trials.
Lucinda contested the 50m Breaststroke event, competing alongside Australia’s elite swimmers in a highly competitive national field.
PLC Swimming Coach, Damien Gogoll, commended Lucinda’s composure and execution under the pressures of a major national meet.

"Lucinda was absolutely phenomenal," Mr Gogoll said. "Going up against Australia's best at such a massive meet comes with a lot of pressure, but she kept her composure and swam exceptionally well."
In a large field of 120 competitors, where only 12 athletes managed to record a Personal Best (PB), Lucinda delivered an incredible performance, finishing very close to her own individual PB.
The meet has provided valuable elite-level experience and has further inspired Lucinda as she continues her athletic journey.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the support of the PLC community throughout my swimming journey,” Lucinda commented. “Competing at the Commonwealth Games trials was an incredible experience and a great opportunity to race alongside some of Australia’s best swimmers. I hope my experience encourages younger swimmers to work hard and believe in what they can achieve”.
Congratulations Lucinda on this wonderful achievement and we wish her the very best as she continues her training and inspires our current students at the PLC Aquatic Centre.
