Katherine Lee (2016)
During her time at PLC, Katherine Lee was once known as the “troublemaker”, the student who could not stay quiet when something felt unfair. She questioned rules not to rebel, but because she believed in doing what was right, even when it meant being audacious. Boarding House staff often remarked that her mind ran faster than her words and that she was a handful in the most endearing way.
In hindsight, that restless energy was an early sign of the leader Katherine would become. The same student once labelled a “troublemaker” went on to be appointed Boarding House Captain, proof that it is possible to challenge authority and still be trusted to lead. Reflecting on her time at PLC, Katherine says, “PLC’s environment taught me that leadership begins with courage: the courage to speak up, stand out and lift others as you rise.”
After graduating from PLC, Katherine moved to New York, where she began her career in healthcare investment banking. She is now studying at the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, channeling that same drive into the public good as she aspires to craft policies that bridge diplomacy, inclusion and economic opportunity, and to make a meaningful impact on a global scale.
