Congratulations to our 2026 School Captains

Nov 28, 2025 12:00 AM

Presbyterian Ladies’ College is proud to announce our 2026 School Captains, Ovindee and Carolyn. We warmly congratulate both students on their appointment and look forward to the leadership, insight and compassion they will bring to the role.

Ovindee and Carolyn embody the values PLC through their integrity, dedication and genuine commitment to others. As School Captains, they will lead with purpose and positivity, supporting student voice and fostering a strong sense of belonging across the College.

For Ovindee, the role marks a significant personal milestone shaped by her journey at PLC. She reflected that being School Captain “felt like the culmination of everything this school has shaped me into becoming, allowing me to give back in a way that is genuine and meaningful.” Her motivation is grounded in gratitude and service, qualities that will guide her leadership throughout the year.

Carolyn’s desire to serve is equally clear, driven by her belief in the power of encouragement and example. She shares, “I wanted to be School Captain as I hope to give back to my community, by being a mentor and role model, encouraging my peers across year levels to know that they too can make a positive difference through their voice, and that each one of us has incredible potential for leadership.” Her focus on inclusion and empowerment reflects a thoughtful and community-minded approach.

Taking on the role is both an honour and a responsibility. Ovindee describes the significance of the position with sincerity: “Being able to serve the community that has embraced and guided me throughout my years has allowed me to deepen my connection to something far greater than myself.” Carolyn echoes this sense of purpose, saying, “I am truly honoured to be taking the role of School Captain. To me, it means that I am a representative of my peers, and an advocate for student voice, and I am so privileged to be trusted with this position.”

Looking beyond their time at PLC, both captains have aspirations that reflect their commitment to meaningful impact. Ovindee hopes to continue her studies in Law and Psychology, and looks forward to “…exploring the overlap in understanding human behaviour and creating meaningful change in society.” Carolyn similarly looks to the future with a global perspective: “My dream career is a diplomat, based on my passion for social change, and interest in global politics.”

Both girls share a strong desire that whatever career or cause they pursue in the future will allow them to make a meaningful and positive contribution to their community.

We congratulate Ovindee and Carolyn on this well-deserved achievement and extend our congratulations to all members of the 2026 student leadership team. We look forward to seeing the positive influence they will have on our community and the wonderful things they will achieve together in the year ahead.

Presbyterian Ladies’ College acknowledges the Wurundjeri, Woiwurrung and Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians, by God’s gracious providence, of the land on which our school stands.
