International Women's Day

Today, students and staff of PLC join girls and women around the world in commemorating International Women's Day. They are inspired by the achievements of women, including those in our PLC community, who work devotedly to make the world a better and safer place with equality of education and opportunities for all women. Last week, our Year 12 student leaders and staff attended the annual Alliance of Girls’ Schools International Women’s Day Breakfast at Queen’s Hall, Parliament House. They met with staff and student leaders from more than twenty other girls’ schools in Melbourne to celebrate and remember the significance of International Women’s Day. The special guest speaker was Dr Angelia Grant, Head of the Macroeconomic Conditions Division in the Australian Treasury. Our students are inspired through their learning to do their very best and to use their education to ensure that others have the same opportunities and privileges. They stand on the shoulders of PLC women who have gone before them.
