The Driver Cup

Each year the Senior hockey team eagerly look forward to competing against the Old Collegians for the prestigious Driver Cup.

The Driver Cup is named after Janet Driver, a long serving Physical Education/Outdoor Educationstaff member who has been instrumental in the development of hockey at PLC. Janet is a passionate hockey player and coach, she has played hockey at a national level and has been an integral part the hockey program at PLC.

This match is a great opportunity for past and present students to share their passion for hockey in a fun but competitive way. It is always a hard-fought competition between the two teams with great sportsmanship displayed throughout the game. The match is always followed by an afternoon tea for the players and is a good opportunity for the Old Collegians to recruit the year 12 students to their team for the following year.

Whilst we haven’t been able to play in the past 2 years due firstly to unfavourable weather and more recently due to COVID restrictions, we are already looking forward to the next match which will be held on Tuesday 15th June 2021. For Old Collegians who are keen to play in future matches please contact Lauren Law-lawl@cggs.vic.edu.au
