PLC's New Year 12 Centre Opens

It was a momentous occasion on Friday 31 January as the College unveiled one of the last major components of the Senior School Transformation and Redevelopment Program - the new Year 12 Centre.

In front of an extremely excited and enthusiastic Year 12 cohort and their teachers, the Principal of PLC Mrs Cheryl Penberthy and School Captains, officially opened the new Centre.

As Mrs Penberthy reflected during her speech, "My favourite aspect of the new Year 12 Centre is that we have lifted the roof of the building. It's a metaphor that underpins all that PLC stands for. In educating the women of the future, the sky is the limit for PLC girls."

This magnificent new Year 12 Centre caps off a 10-year building program that has seen the transformation and modernisation of the College's Senior School facilities.

The College has also redeveloped, common rooms and study areas, corridors, stairwells and all access points and entrances.

The girls have also benefitted from a complete transformation of the Senior School Science Laboratories, a new Arts Wing and the creation of a new Meal Centre and the refurbishment of Wyselaskie Hall.

This building program, along with the College’s commitment to using 100% renewable power, has revolutionised the learning and living spaces for the girls and staff at PLC. It has set a new standard for a leading, modern and connected, 21st Century girls’ school.
