School Psychologist/Counsellor

The Role

An experienced School Psychologist/Counsellor is invited to join the Counselling Team at PLC from the start of Term 3 2022.  

This role is a full-time maternity leave replacement position, however we are also open to considering suitable candidates in a 4 day a week capacity.  

The role commences Term 3 2022, which includes a handover period, and will conclude at the end of Term 2 2023 (12 month period). 

The PLC Counselling Department supports students, parents and staff across the whole school from ELC to Year 12. All members of the Counselling Department seek to enhance the personal, social and educational development of students.

Responsibilities include counselling students from Years 7 to 12, with a focus on Year Levels 7, 8 & 12 by providing psychological counselling, therapy and programs for individuals and groups for a range of mental health, emotional and family issues.   You will provide support for families and guidance for staff, conduct psychological assessments (WISC-V) and support the implementation of the wellbeing curriculum. 
 
About You

The successful candidate will be a registered psychologist (PBA and APS) with tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.  

You will have experience working within a school setting providing targeted counselling and psychological support to students addressing a range of needs.  A demonstrated capacity to conduct comprehensive cognitive assessments is strongly desired. 
 
All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards. The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain a valid Working With Children Check (for Employees).
