Learn to Swim Coordinator

The Role

PLC invites applications from candidates with an aquatics background for the full-time, fixed-term position of Learn to Swim Coordinator, commencing Monday 13 December 2021 through until Monday 9 January 2023. Hours of work include morning and afternoon / evening shifts, spread across Monday to Saturday.

About You

Reporting to the Aquatics Centre Manager, this position is responsible for preparing, coordinating and staffing an established Learn to Swim and Water Safety Program for the PLC College and wider community. The incumbent will have a passion for developing water skills in children of all ages, be a strong team player, and a highly competent administrator within our Aquatics Centre.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of young people (swim students and Learn To Swim staff), strong ICT skills, high-level administrative skills, a solutions-focused attitude and a positive work ethic.

Essential to this role is demonstrated experience in a swim centre environment. Postgraduate studies in Sports Administration (or similar) would be highly regarded. 

The incumbent will also need to provide evidence of a current AUSTSWIM, First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certificates.

All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards. The successful candidate will be required to hold and maintain a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) for Employees.
