Junior School - Special Education Teacher / Learning Enhancement Coordinator

The Role

This is a full-time, ongoing, key leadership opportunity with one of our State’s leading girls’ schools, commencing Term 1 2022.

The Special Education Teacher / Learning Enhancement Coordinator (Junior School) is an integral part of PLC’s Junior School Leadership team, who will lead the Learning Enhancement Department (LED) and oversee three areas of need: the gifted and talented program, special abilities/learning support and EAL from Prep to Year 6.

This full-time load of this role is divided as follows: 0.3 FTE leadership of LED, 0.7 FTE teaching. A responsibility allowance also applies.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified, experienced Primary Teacher with postgraduate qualifications in educational management / leadership or another relevant area. We are seeking someone who is in a current leadership role or an aspiring leader. 

The incumbent will bring a passion for and commitment to the ideals of learning within an independent girls’ school. They will be an exemplary teacher with the skills and knowledge to cater for a range of abilities and learning styles, and be someone who can develop effective monitoring and intervention strategies to support student learning.  

All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards. 

The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
