Database Administrator / Systems Integrator - Closes 24 July 2019

Position Overview

PLC requires the services of an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) and Systems Integrator. PLC uses the Synergetic school management system and Schoolbox Learning Management System (LMS) but we also use or are intending to use a raft of other systems that require management and integration to enhance and extend the school’s ICT capabilities. This position reports to the Director of ICT and works in conjunction with the school’s existing Senior Database Administrator and ICT Support Team.

Personal Requirements

It is expected that the successful candidate will have, as a minimum, a current accreditation as a Microsoft Certified Solution Associate on Microsoft SQL 2012 or later version.

Given the role will also involve some infrastructure management, a CCNA accreditation or equivalent would be looked upon favourably. 

You will also have

  • minimum 2 years SQL Server Database Administration experience
  • Synergetic school administration system experience
  • Schoolbox administration experience (desirable)
  • demonstrated experience in System Integration
  • knowledge of standard Windows services AD, DHCP, DNS, ADFS, IIS, Terminal services etc
  • experience in Systems Administration
  • virtualisation
  • backup and recovery
  • experience deploying, optimising and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi networks
  • thorough knowledge in managing network infrastructure including key networking technologies such as VLANs, Spanning Tree, Routing, ACLs
  • proven experience with SOE development and software deployment methods desirable (e.g. System Centre Configuration Manager or Intune)
  • experience with aggregating data from disparate data sources
  • development experience would be looked upon favourably
  • knowledge of HP Aruba Management Tools such as Clearpass and Airwave (desirable)
  • experience with SQL Server analysis services and SQL integration services (desirable)
  • experience with any Business Intelligence tools such as MS PowerBI (desirable)
  • experience with G-Suite and / or O365 (desirable)
  • strong analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • effective and professional communication skills, both written and oral
  • demonstrated experience working with key stakeholders to develop business reports
