Boarding House Assistants (Casual)

PLC is a leading ELC to Year 12 Christian independent day and boarding school with a focus on the development of the whole person that includes an outstanding academic tradition, an international outlook and strong pastoral and co-curricular programs.
The Role
PLC is seeking to appoint Boarding House Assistants on a casual basis, to help in the smooth and effective running of the Boarding House.  This important role has a primary focus on the welfare of the girls, leading by example and building a strong sense of community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and staff connected with the Boarding House
  • Actively engage in student activities in the Boarding House to builds a sense of community
  • Monitor and nurture the girls' academic progress and social and emotional development
  • Provide general administration and operational support as directed by the Head of Boarding
  • Work day and overnight shifts on weekdays and weekends
  • Support the Christian ethos of the college and a commitment to excellence 

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have had previous experience supporting adolescent girls in a residential environment or in an education, welfare or health/science setting.  

Your caring and compassionate nature will be at the forefront of your interactions with others along with your excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.  

A current Working with Child Check (employee) is essential.  You will also have flexibility to work overnight shifts as required.
