The Role

If you are a professional Gardener who is keen to join a friendly, hard-working and highly supportive Grounds Team in a full-time, permanent capacity - this role could be for you.

Supporting the Head of Grounds and Facilities Manager, the Gardener will be responsible for ensuring PLC’s grounds are maintained and improved in accordance with the College’s Landscape Master Plan, and the Department’s annual maintenance and improvement plan.

Your days will be interesting, varied and with plenty of room to grow your skills and interests. 

Tasks include full garden maintenance, preparing and maintaining garden beds and sports grounds (including playgrounds) across the College, assisting with the development and maintenance of water conservation methods, cleaning of pathways and driveways and overseeing site inspections.

About You

With experience in a similar role, the ideal candidate will also have sound knowledge of plants and trees and the application of weed control, herbicides and pesticides. You will also be competent in the use of a ride on mower, front end loader, tractor, chain saw, hedge trimmer, edger and whipper snipper.
