The financial support of PLC Parents, Old Collegians, Staff and Friends alike helps the College to meet the challenge of providing facilities and resources for girls into the future. One of the most fundamental ways that support is achieved is through the community joining the PLC Foundation.

The Foundation was established 17 years ago to help provide for the on-going funding needs of PLC over and above that provided by school fees and government subsidies. An example of some of the hard work of the Foundation was the contribution in 2005 of $965,000 towards the construction of the new Junior School. Other contributions have been made to the Doris Daniel Theatre, the development of the Early Learning Centre and the purchase of new school buses.

In recent times, the Foundation has supported the building of the new Boarding House and its future plans are focussed on raising funds in anticipation of the new major capital building project at the school.  

To help provide much-need funds for these projects, the College is asking the PLC community to become Members of the Foundation. Membership is $3,000 and can be pledged over 5 years as a fully tax deductible contribution of $600 per year.

Not only will this provide considerable financial support to the College, it will also grant Membership of the Foundation for life. In fact membership in the Foundation has grown at a record rate in 2008, eclipsing the record established in 2007 for new people joining the Foundation. People joining have been particularly strong across the Junior School and in Years 7, 8 and 9! 

The next major Foundation event is the President's Cocktail Party on Friday 7 November 2008, 7pm to 10pm, in Hethersett Hall.

It will be a gala event and we hope to see all of our Members there.
