PLC Employer Statement

PLC reported a gender pay gap of 2.1% which was pleasingly below the industry average of 3.7%. The gender pay gap increase from 2022 (-25.2%) to 2023 (2.1%) is attributed to a greater number of men employed into senior ICT and business management positions following our inclusive recruitment procedures.  A further contributing factor is the higher number of women in typically lower paid casual roles. PLC’s commitment to narrowing the gender pay gap is evident in our PLC Board composition (53% women, 47% men), Executive Team (83% women, 17% men), and in Key Management Personnel positions (67% women and 33% men). PLC has implemented policies, strategies and initiatives to close the gender pay gap including equal access to parental leave and casual/part-time work, college-wide Flexible Work policies, employer-funded 16-weeks parental leave above industry standards, explicit family and domestic violence leave, and access to additional purchased leave. Programs to further narrow the gap in 2024 include the implementation of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy and enhanced career pathways and leadership development opportunities.
