The Director of Curriculum and Learning is responsible to the Principal for the oversight of the curriculum, including its balance, development and review in Years 7 to 10, and in the VCE and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Other responsibilities include assessment and reporting and the promotion of quality teaching and learning throughout the College.
Personal Requirements
be an outstanding educational leader and exemplary teacher with experience in teaching their discipline to VCE level or equivalent
have extensive knowledge of curriculum developments in the state, national and international contexts
have a strong commitment to innovative pedagogy and academic excellence
have previous experience of both VCE and IB
have an understanding and appreciation of the culture of independent schools and girls’ schools
have demonstrated skills and experience in leadership, educational administration and management at a senior staff level
have excellent interpersonal skills, superior communication skills, well-developed analytical and conceptual skills, the capacity to work well in multi-disciplinary teams and the ability to inspire and enthuse others
have excellent IT and presentation skills
have well honed administrative skills
have a sound understanding of contemporary research about teaching and learning and about professional development for teachers
have an understanding of managing change in an educational environment
have registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and preferably a post graduate degree in educational management/leadership/administration or another relevant area
be able to actively support the Christian teachings and ethos of the College
have an outstanding record of achievement
