Ensembles range from classical orchestras and bands to jazz bands, rock bands, chamber ensembles, contemporary folk and non-western music.

Over 60% of students learn an instrument from the staff of forty-five professional musicians who teach in the Music School .

There are numerous performance opportunities provided throughout the year ranging from major concerts in the best concert halls in Melbourne, to more intimate affairs for various interest groups within the school community and in the wider community.

Music is offered within the curriculum at every year level making use of the latest in technology, including a computer laboratory.
